Notes:

George's father, John Piercy was born in England. He came to LaSalle County and settled at Utica to work at a cement mill while the canal was being constructed. John married Lydia Horner and they moved to the Piercy farm later returning to Utica to live. George made a living as a farmer. He lived to be 101 years old, the oldest citizen in LaSalle County.
