Husband: Moses Brigham (1)
Wife: Mehetabel Grout
06 (F): Mary Brigham
Born: 27 Jul 1764
He was surveyor in 1757; tythingman in 1760; and constable in 1762.
The Rev. Ebenezer Parkman of Westborough, where Moses lived, records in his diary on the 13th of June, 1769, the following : "I went to see poor Mr. Moses Brigham who is very bad with his cough, and prayed with him as well as spent time with him in discourse to quicken and forward him in his preparation. He asks me to preach there at some convenient time, seeing he has been so long confined at home.". He died about six months after this visit.
From the book "The Hundredth Town Glimpses of Life in Westborough" we learn, her wooing by young Moses Brigham caused many heart-burnings and wild frenzies of jealousy to the daughter of his step-mother. One evening, when she knew that he planned to ride over to see Mehetabel, she slipped out to the stable and hamstrung Selim, his favorite horse.
